The new Board of Directors wishes to thank Mike Diaz, Paul Mathis and
Jack Mueller for their participation as board members this past year.
The 2010-2011 board biographies are outlined below.
Richard Lindquist, President
Richard has stepped up from the vice position to the top man on the totem
and with a smile. He has always spent a great deal of his time organizing
our swap meets and staying abreast of the community, so this is an
advantageous (for us) spot for him. As was said before, he is good balance
to the board providing a regimented outlook on tasks that need to be
accomplished.
Richard Bretone, Vice President
From the un-official maintenance man for the organization a few years ago,
to the scribe, and now the vice chair. Moving and shaking is the term. He
has a rough row to hoe as the vice chair, it isn't easy to fill the shoes of
the past vice president. He continues to energize the constituents to go
beyond the norm.
Bob Leonard, Treasurer
Bob has been in almost every position on the board at one time or another,
and has been a member since the turn of the century, seems like such a
looong time ago! He continues with the organization as a coordinator of the
layout design group, hoping for completion by the end of the next decade.
Vic Zarzycki, Secretary / Director
He's back! He didn't stay away too long and he has one of his old jobs back,
so the meeting minutes should be interesting. Vic is becoming a fixture on
our boards, his retirement has been a benefit to us and his organizational
and logistical skills have helped us through our down time.
Bill Cialini, Director
Bill has been a member of the museum for a short while, since 2009, but
comes to us with an impressive background. He is an avid model railroader
and instructor of such, modeling 1980’s to the present on his home layout.
Active in the NMRA in different regions and divisions for years, he brings
his experience and knowledge with him. Along with his duties with the museum
he is also the secretary/treasurer for the Southern Division, of our
Sunshine Region, of the National Model Railroad Association.
Jan Muenzenmaier
Jan has been with our organization in one discipline or another since the
millennium started and we have been fortunate to have her. Unfortunately for
us, but advantageous to Jan, she has retired from the trials and
tribulations of the City of Deerfield Beach, politics. We wish her all the
time-off she deserves for such service
As an organization we have, as all organizations, a group of people who act
within the group as leaders, workers, or social participants. Every group has
these categories of individuals; some organizations have more of a group or
less of a group, thus driving the success or failure of the organization.
With every organization, a larger percentage of work is accomplished by a
smaller percentage of people. The axiom is “100 % of the work is done by 10%
of the people.” Our group does not fall within those parameters. We have
more than enough people who have the drive to get the work accomplished and
for that we are lucky. Within our group those who are avid modelers, who
spend time building, painting, and operating our equipment; we also have
modeling leaders.
